Delta Research, Delta Gear, and Realtrac have partnered to sponsor the U-9 Jones Hydroplane Racing Team

Delta Research, Delta Gear, and Realtrac have partnered to sponsor the U-9 Jones Hydroplane Racing Team at two races in the H1 Unlimited circuit this season—First, at the Indiana Governor’s Cup (July 1–3) and then at the APBA Gold Cup during the UAW-GM Spirit of Detroit Hydrofest (August 26–28). H1 Unlimited hydroplanes are the fastest circuit racing boats in the world, powered by turbine engines producing 3000 horsepower and topping 200 mph. Delta Gear has also contributed to the hydroplane by designing and building its reduction gearbox. “The gearbox cuts the engine’s rpm in half and allows the propeller to function properly,” explained Delta Vice President of Sales & Marketing Bryan Barlow. “We were very proud to lend our expertise to helping the U-9 Jones racing team.”

The driver of the U-9 hydroplane, Andrew Tate, is in his first year in the unlimited class and the hottest new driver on the circuit. Tate is a fourth-generation boat racer with many wins in smaller classes, including nine national titles, and has been inducted into the APBA Hall of Champions twice. At the Indiana Governor’s Cup, Tate had an impressive showing and finished 4th of twelve in the final heat.

“At Realtrac we aim to help our customers maximize their effectiveness and ensure success, and our partnership with the U-9 Jones Racing Team is another example of that,” explained Realtrac Director of Sales and Marketing Jeremy Klosowski. “A large, complex machine like the hydroplane has a lot of moving parts and requires precision from the driver, crew team, and its parts to win—not unlike a manufacturing shop where ERP software that can put everyone and everything in the right place to take the whole shop forward.”

Good luck to Andrew Tate and the entire U-9 Jones Racing Team this season. We’ll be rooting for you at the Gold Cup!
